Washington, DC — On Wednesday, September 24, New America will host a public event featuring Her Excellency Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway. Prime Minister Solberg will discuss her personal experience as a female head of state, gender and foreign policy, international gender equality, Norway’s strategies for balancing work and family life, and her work on promoting education for young girls around the world.
New America Board Member Kati Marton will present welcoming remarks. Liza Mundy, Director of New America’s Breadwinning and Caregiving Program, will introduce and moderate a discussion with Prime Minister Solberg.
“New America’s Breadwinning and Caregiving program is deeply engaged in issues that include work and family life, the education gender imbalance, and opportunities for female leadership,” said Anne-Marie Slaughter, President of New America. “Prime Minister Solberg has been a leader on these topics, and we are delighted that she can join us for this important and timely conversation.”
