The YouthSave Consortium would like to welcome Ms. Zeenat Rahman as the newest member of its Expert Advisory Board (EAB). Ms. Rahman, who brings a wealth of experience in youth empowerment to the EAB, is currently serving as Secretary of State John Kerry’s Special Adviser on Global Youth Issues and Director of the Office of Global Youth Issues (read her full bio here).

Ms. Rahman’s considerable service in international youth programs extends to all corners of the developing world through her prior work as Acting Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at USAID and as Director of Policy at the Interfaith Youth Core. In her most recent blog post for the State Department, Ms. Rahman draws from these experiences to discuss Africa’s promising economic dynamism, in spite of global perceptions of the continent as one marred by conflict and authoritarian rule. Citing initiatives put in place by both the Obama administration and the State Department, Ms. Rahman also outlined the multitude of efforts taken by the United States to help further youth empowerment in Africa. We encourage you to read the post in its entirety here.

We are very proud to have Ms. Rahman as the newest member of our Expert Advisory Board and look forward to more insightful posts from her in the future.
