Katherine Zoepf is a fellow in the Breadwinning and Caregiving Program at New America. She is working on a book about young women in the contemporary Arab world, which will be published by the Penguin Press. Zoepf also organizes a series of events and discussions on women's issues, Broadly Speaking, which are held in New America's New York City events space. Zoepf lived in Syria and Lebanon from 2004 to 2007 while working as a stringer for The New York Times; she also worked in the Times's Baghdad bureau in 2008. Her writings have appeared in the New York Observer, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the New York Times Magazine, and the New Yorker, among other publications. She is a graduate of Princeton University and the London School of Economics.
