As a Schwartz fellow at New America, Rosa Brooks studies and writes on the changing nature of warfare and changing role of the U.S. military. Ms. Brooks has recently served as Counselor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and as Special Coordinator for Rule of Law and Humanitarian Policy in the Pentagon. She is a professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Brooks spent four years as an opinion columnist for The Los Angeles Times and has been a frequent guest on MSNBC and BloggingheadsTV. Brooks received a B.A from Harvard, an M.A from Oxford, and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
